• The Prevention of Hemorrhage Through Third Stage Management

    Presenter: Jaqxun Darlin, CPM
    Original Date: April 21, 2018

Have you ever wondered after a postpartum hemorrhage if you could have prevented it from occurring in the first place? In this workshop, we’ll learn 3rd stage management tools to prevent hemorrhage in patients who are both low- and high-risk for PPH, based on best evidence and midwifery research. We’ll investigate why prenatal education and informed choice about about 3rd stage physiology and management should be a routine part of midwifery care, and why ongoing risk-assessment for risk of PPH both prenatally and during a birth will help you keep blood where it belongs- inside your patient!

  • Epigenetics, Nutrigenomics, Pharmacogenomics
and their Role in Prevention and Treatment in Full Scope Midwifery Practice

    Presenter: Paul Anderson, ND
    Original Date: April 21, 2018

Genomic topics have exploded in the past decade to the point that misinformation and confusion are as possible between practitioner and patient as clarity. Dr. Anderson will use his background in genomic research, clinical genomics and troubleshooting to outline the most clinically salient portions of genomics as they relate to fertility, birthing and pediatrics. The goal of the talk is to leave the attendee with understanding as well as clinical tools to “sort out” these critical topics. And although the last baby Dr. Anderson delivered is 23 years old he has maintained a practice long involvement in high risk prenatal care, fertility and pediatrics.
