• Hepatitis C/HIV Co-Infection Treatment Update

Presenter: Atif Zaman, MD, MPH, Michael MacVeigh, MD, & Jonathan Livingston
    Original Date: July 21, 2016

HIV/hepatitis C co-infection is common in Oregon and accessing specialty care is limited, especially in more rural areas of our state. This presentation reviews prescribing guidelines for hepatitis C treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS and trains prescribing providers to provide hepatitis C care and treatment where patients are living, rather than referring to a metropolitan center for care. This increases access to care to those most in need, reducing the spread of infection while ensuring positive health outcomes for patients.

Hosted by the Oregon AIDS Education & Training Center (AETC), Dr. Atif Zaman, MD, MPH and Michael MacVeigh, MD present an overview of hepatitis C treatments, provide case-based discussion of hepatitis C/HIV co-infection and provide resources for treatment access across Oregon.
