In this presentation, Dr. Ortiz explains how you can properly assess cardiovascular disease from a whole system perspective. You will learn about the basic pathology of CVD and CHD, and how oxidative stress, inflammation, autoimmune dysfunction, and other conditions promote CVD. You will become familiar with blood lab tools for screening, diagnosing, and monitoring CVD in both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients. You will also learn how to interpret biomarkers including cytokines, cardiomyocyte strain proteins, and lipoproteins, and how to use these biomarkers to provide more accurate treatment and monitoring of CVD.
