    Permaculture is a design system, based in nature, that can be applied to develop sustainable human settlements. This whole systems approach is used to design integrated landscapes that provide ecological functions and yields for humans. We can enhance habitat for other species, heal the earth’s systems, and cultivate to meet human needs by applying permaculture design on a given site in appropriate ways. In this evening presentation, Marisha Auerbach will introduce participants to the permaculture concept and how it can be applied in their lives.

  • Growing your Backyard Pharmacy

    Spend an evening learning to grow some of the most important and useful medicinal plants in your garden. Discussion will include selecting and starting seeds, making your own potting soil, and drying and harvesting techniques. In this class, Alexis Durham will review several common medicinal plants from seed to safe use, with a focus on creating healing landscapes by integrating medicinal and edible plants.
