    Original Date: November 2, 2013
    Presenter: Patrick Chapman, ND

Dr. Patrick Chapman differentiates distinct features of latent autoimmune diabetes of adulthood and how they are distinguished from type-2 diabetes. He describes the pathophysiology of autoimmune diabetes and patient medical history which may suggest autoimmunity. He discusses a variety of laboratory evaluations, including continuous glucose monitoring systems (CGMS). • Naturopathic Physiotherapy and Physiognomic Markers in Diabetes Management

    Original Date: November 2, 2013
    Presenter: Eric Blake, ND, LAc

Naturopathic physiotherapy (electro-hydrotherapy) treatments can be a valuable addition in NIDDM patient management. Along with dietetic treatment naturopathic physiotherapy can be useful in NIDDM for the metabolic pathology. These therapies can easily be integrated into existing clinical practice.

Naturopathic physiognomic markers of the tongue, iris, nails and skin will also be presented that can help to identify those individuals with either a genetic or metabolic tendency towards blood sugar dysregulation and NIDDM in advance of it's clinical manifestation.

  • Breakthrough Solutions for Reversing Type 2 Diabetes and Obesity On or Off a Budget

    Original Date: November 2, 2013
    Presenter: Dennis Godby, ND

If present trends continue, one in three children born in this century will likely develop diabetes in his or her lifetime. Obesity, equally, is on the rise, and the prevalence of both conditions is directly related to income and education. The poorest populations suffer disproportionately from diseases that can be prevented and treated using lifestyle management, dietary changes, stress management and other inexpensive, mind-body solutions. Rather than focusing on nutritional supplements, Dr. Godby will explore a breadth of proven, practical tools and techniques that clinicians can apply to their current practice. Viewers will learn how to empower patients to take control of their health using practices like blood glucose monitoring, enjoying healthy food, specific exercise techniques, emotional health awareness, fat loss methods and more.
